And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6, ESV)

Don’t let the past hinder your walk with Christ in the present and future

    Read Hebrews 9:11-28

"Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him" (Hebrews 9:28).

What Does This Scripture Mean for Us?

Christianity is a faith that always anticipates the future. We believers are taught again and again to put the past behind us and look ahead to the glories we have in the eternal future.

Of course the past is important. We have the Scriptures because past generations were led by God to create them. We have an understanding of God's work today as we see ways he has worked throughout history. I am not saying we ought to "forget" the past, rather we are not to be tied to it and limited in our view of God because we allow "the" past and/or "our" past to hinder his work in our TODAY.

That's my advice for you today: Never hinder your present or your future by tying yourself too firmly to the past. Be ready always to be "promoted" into his presence to be with Christ for eternity!
