Read Hebrews 5:1-10
"Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him" (Hebrews 5:8,9).
What Does This Scripture Mean for Us?
I think these verses sort of echo Paul's words to the believers in Philippi, where he spoke of Christ setting aside his Godhood and eternal glory to become like us, so that he might be exalted and show us more of what the Father is like. (That's sort of my paraphrase of Philippians 2:5-11. Go ahead and look it up if you want. I'll wait.)
How incredible that Jesus subjected himself to the "learning process" we human children go through. I think he did it so that we might have him as our example, and so that we might know and love God even more!
