Is God trying to get your attention in some way today?
Read Hebrews 2:1-4
"We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift
away" (Hebrews 2:1).
What Does This Scripture Mean for Us?
I had a math teacher once with an odd, but very effective way, of getting his students' attention. He would walk around the room with an old chalkboard eraser in his hand. If he found someone who was not paying attention, dozing at his desk, etc., he would suddenly slam the eraser down on the unwary student's desk. WHAM!! Chalk dust would fly and the noise was enough to wake the dead.
Has God had to slam the eraser down on your desk lately to get your attention?? I hope not. Be alert.
The Scriptures are filled with warnings that we must pay attention to God and get serious about living for him. Or suffer the consequences.
