Our glimpse of eternity and that ‘greater life’ comes through Christ
Read Hebrews 7:24-8:6
"The point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by man" (Hebrews 8:1, 2).
What Does This Scripture Mean for Us?
Men and women have always recognized this truth: This world is probably not all there is, and may well be only a dim reflection of something far better to come. That's been true almost universally in every culture, every place, for all of human history.
We Christians profess to KNOW it's true, because in Christ we've actually been given a glimpse of that "greater life," as my former pastor used to call it.
We have access to that greater life to come, to the presence of God our Heavenly Father RIGHT NOW -- through Jesus Christ, our Lord and great "high priest."
Think about that today. Pretty exciting, isn't it?
