One is biblical and one is not… Read Hebrews 2:5-9 “Now in subjecting all things to them, God left nothing outside their control” (Hebrews 2:8). What Does This Scripture Mean for Us? When you look at the world, perhaps even when you look at how life’s going for you specifically, do you ever wonder why things aren’t quite “right” or what you might be able to do to make things “better” than you find them? Here’s a thought — as the old song lyrics go, “We have the power.” That line has been running through my head since re-reading this Scripture from Hebrews. Read Hebrews 12:1-13 “Consider him [Jesus] who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart” (Hebrews 12:3). What Does This Scripture Mean for Us? Read Hebrews 11:1-16 “All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance” (Hebrews 11:13). Read more on Trust God and live by faith — even when you don’t ‘feel’ filled with faith… Read Hebrews 8:7-13 “For I will forgive their wickedness and remember their sins no more” (Hebrews 8:12). What Does This Scripture Mean for Us? I think the most difficult thing for which we ever trust God is the matter of forgiveness. Sure, we accept the Scriptures that tell us he forgives our sins when we confess them and come to him through Christ. Read more on Sure God forgives our sins — but does He ‘forget’ them, too?… Read Hebrews 6:1-12 “God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them” (Hebrews 6:10).
