And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6, ESV)

Trusting God even when our hearts are filled with doubts

    Read James 1:1-18

"He who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not
think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does"
    (James 1:6,7).

What Does This Scripture Mean for Us?

Wouldn't it be great to live an absolutely confident, doubt-free life, 24/7??

I don't know about you, but that doesn't begin to describe me. On an average day, I'm afraid my level of faith reflects a ton of "double-mindedness." I recall a comment made by Mark Twain -- can't recall an exact quote -- about spelling and the creative mind. Something to the effect that a person who couldn't think of five or ten ways to spell the same word just didn't have any creative imagination!

If I don't go through the day with at least five or ten doubts rattling through my brain -- it just isn't normal.

So what's the solution? I guess it's simply to keep on trusting God, keep on trying. As we admit our doubts to him and allow him to do it, he builds our faith and fills us with confidence!
