We don’t need to understand all about God, simply trust Him

Read Hebrews 2:5-18

"But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone" (Hebrews 2:9).

What Does This Scripture Mean for Us?

In our local newspaper yesterday, a gentleman wrote an opinion column trying to come to grips with a loving God who would allow horrible suffering and deaths, particularly through such natural disasters as tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. He concluded that God, if He does exist, cannot be "loving," and must either be uncaring or outright evil.

I will be the first to say that I do not understand why people die and suffer in natural disasters -- particularly cases where seemingly godly people are spared in one house while other godly people suffer and die in neighboring houses. But God doesn't require me to understand His ways, nor the impact of sin and the way it has marred the Universe itself. He only requires me to trust Him.

Whatever happens in your life today, you have this assurance: Jesus has gone ahead before you, to help you face anything that's coming your way. He is RIGHT THERE WITH YOU today, in both the bad and in the good.

And when the time comes to depart from this life, we have assurance that Jesus has gone before us and waits to welcome us into the next life.
