And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6, ESV)

Why do Christians fight so often trying to understand faith and works?

    Read James 2:14-16

"As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead" (James 2:26).

What Does This Scripture Mean for Us?

It's always puzzled me to try to understand why some believers battle over "faith v. works," as though it were that silly riddle about which came first -- the chicken or the egg?

(No, I don't want this distracted into a chicken-egg controversy. LOL!)

Obviously, the link between faith and works, or "deeds" as this translation puts it, is something living and organic. They CANNOT and SHOULD NOT be separated, as though you could be a solid, faithful believer without your faith prompting a life filled with good deeds.

So get out there and show your world that your faith is real by the actions and attitudes the people in your world see in your life today!
